Iguana's in South Florida

I live in South Florida and we have a lot of tropical creatures. A lot of salamanders and lizards. But over the past couple of years I have seen more and more iguanas roaming around. Some are huge. It fascinates me that they creates are just living among us.

I saw this amazing black and orange iguana the other day. There is a family of them living in this tree. Every time I walk the dog I go to this tree to see what iguana is hanging out that day. This is the only black and orange one I have seen so far, the others are all green.

I just decided to google why are there so many iguanas here in Florida and google said: They're thriving there because South Florida's subtropical climate and lack of natural predators.

I have to admit, they are beautiful but they are taking over South Florida. They ruin crops and dig under houses and cause a lot of other damage. I hope that they come up with a solution to preserve these beautiful creates but help slow down the population in our neighborhoods.
